By Maureen Loftus Gladys, one of our cherished chickens, was grimly ripped from our school last summer. All students who visited the garden remember her friendly clucking and warm attitude. She was a sufferer of Marek’s disease, a paralysis condition with no known treatment. Her forlorn demise last August was a loss for the whole school. She is survived by her close chicken friends Josephine and Gertrude, and her acquaintances Poppy, Sage, and Iris. “Gladys was a sweet chicken who brought a lot of joy to our community and she will be greatly missed.” -Ms. Kasey Comments are closed.
