By Maureen Loftus On May 4th the documentary “RBG” was released in select theatres. The movie has gotten great reviews, probably because of the subject, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She is known as a remarkable Supreme Court Justice, but also as the only person to make judicial robes look fashionable, by her occasional nickname “the great dissenter” and by her hilarious character played by Kate McKinnon on SNL. She is also known for her intense workout regime that most wouldn’t be able to complete. This movie focuses on these aspects of her life, but also the more serious ones. She argued many groundbreaking cases for gender equality to the Supreme Court before she was appointed by Bill Clinton in 1993. Critics gave this inspiring movie a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, and it’s near the top of the box office despite its limited release. If you can see this heartening movie, it is a fascinating summary of the life of America’s favorite Supreme Court Justice. Comments are closed.
